Electrical Production Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Strainstall UK is now trading as BES Group Asset Reliability. In our new home as part of BES Group, we remain a leading provider of specialist testing services and structural monitoring to the construction, rail, energy, marine, highways and maintenance sectors.

Drawing on more than 57 years’ experience, we develop and apply our innovative technology, including load, strain and stress measuring techniques, within a wide range of sectors including marine, offshore, civil engineering, rail and aerospace. We specialise in the design and manufacture of standard and bespoke load cells, strain gauges and integrated systems, which are proven to perform year on year in hostile and hazardous environments.

What will I be doing?

As an Electrical Production Technician based on our own site in Cowes, Isle of Wight you will be working with a variety of products including strain gauges and systems, container weighing systems and electronic systems. Some of your other responsibilities will include:

  • Electrical and Mechanical Assembly
  • Soldering a variety of products
  • Assisting in the assembly of Strainstall products
  • Electrical and fixed wire testing
  • General electrical maintenance

What experience do I need?

Our team consists of the best people, we should know, we trained them. We want our new recruits to have the same attitude, aptitude and appetite for what we do. 

  • Electrical or Mechanical engineering qualification is ideal, but not essential
  • Experience as an Electrician or Electricians Mate
  • Tech Savvy – able to complete reports and easily understand the monitoring systems used, as well as the Microsoft Suite
  • Knowledge of load monitoring equipment or a background in electrical engineering would be an advantage
  • Willing to be flexible with working hours
